A Norvegian Linguistics Professor finds Swedes stupid. Professor Finn-Erik Vinje has published a post on his blog asking, “Why are Swedes so stupid?“.

The citation is taken from a publication written 60 years ago,’ Vinje writes, ‘but the question remains relevant today.’

Vinje, Professor in linguistics, is not the first to draw attention to  perceived stupidity and language.  In discussions elsewhere, it has been pointed out that the Swedish language is lacking the word ‘consistent,’ and the word ‘consequent‘ is used in its place.  It is, if not a reflection, then at least a remarkable coincidence, that the foreigners tend to react to how the Swedes have trouble conceiving of causality.
